You’re Not Stuck, You’re Comfortable
The uncomfortable truth about growth and why you've been avoiding it
Happy Sunday everyone,
Did you know that the "21-day habit" myth (that it takes 21 days to form a habit) actually comes from a misquoted plastic surgeon's observations?
Research shows it takes anywhere from 18 to 254 days to form a new habit, with an average of 66 days.
In today’s email:
Why you aren’t stuck, you’re just comfortable.
Why it’s not a confidence issue, and why that’s a good thing.
POWER SURGE

You’re Not Stuck, You’re Comfortable.
When I was 18, I believed I was stuck.
Stuck in a job that didn't fulfill me, stuck in habits I couldn't break, stuck in a life that felt like it was happening to me rather than being created by me.
But looking back I wasn't stuck at all. I was comfortable.
The warm embrace of comfort is deceitful when it whispers to you.
You know what I'm talking about, right? That feeling of wanting change but never quite making it happen?
We tell ourselves we're "too busy" to pursue what matters, but that's just another comfortable lie.
If something truly matters, we must make time for it. Everything else gets our perfectly crafted excuses.
I had time for three hours of scrolling each night but "couldn't find time" to hit the gym, or to open an investment account.
I fell into this trap of waiting for the perfect moment to start.
The perfect job opening, the perfect market conditions, the perfect mental state.
Perfectionism is just procrastination wearing fancy clothes.
Maybe You Just Lack Confidence?
The funny thing about confidence is that you can't think your way into it. Trust me, I tried.
Nothing builds confidence like doing something hard and surviving it. Each small win stacks on top of the last until suddenly you're moving with momentum you never thought possible.
Oh, and those difficult conversations I'd been avoiding? Turns out they were causing most of my stress. The anticipation was far worse than the actual confrontation.
Now I face them head-on, and while they're never fun, they're never as bad as the years of anxiety and stagnation I chose to put myself through.
Some days I don't feel like doing the work. Actually, most days. It’s no secret that discipline trumps motivation every single time.
Now, what scares me most is realizing that comfort zones slowly shrink over time. The longer you avoid challenges, the more terrifying they become.
A good life is one where the edge of your comfort zone is moving away, not inward.
Eventually, I had to face the hardest truth: my life was a direct reflection of what I was willing to tolerate. From myself. From others. From situations. The moment I raised my standards, everything began to change.
Your future isn't determined by your goals – it's built by your daily systems. The small choices you make every day compound into the life you'll be living a year from now.
As Jim Rohn said, "Your life does not get better by chance, it gets better by change."
